Jeffrey-Baptiste Tarlofsky, a long term resident of Japan, has spent almost two decades studying and collecting Japanese art and antiques as well as travelling and collecting fine and traditional art in China, Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent. On this website you will see a small sample of the pieces available from his own collection and those of other collectors for whom he acts as representative.
In addition to his interest in art, Mr. Tarlofsky is a film historian, writer, photographer and university lecturer. He serves on the Steering Committee of the Temple University Japan Alumni Association and chairs the Sub-committee on fundfraising. Mr.Tarlofsky is a wine and food enthusiast who founded "Fruits of The Vine", a club for enophiles in Tokyo.
He makes his home in the small port village of Futo on the Izu coast in a carefully restored one hundred year old fisherman's cottage.
